Student learning goals
General method of instruction
hands-on instruction in selected media software and editing, with in-class critiques and discussion.
Recommended preparation
Students should be ready for a high level of participation, interaction, and creation. Students should have some independence of vision and direction, as the assignment requirements will be broadly drawn. Students must be comfortable with media technologies, and have basic Macintosh computer skills. The lab is Macintosh-based, and so students should be willing to work on that platform, and with the software covered.
Class assignments and grading
At least 50% of the class grade will be determined by the art you produce. Other assignments may include written responses for readings and class presentations. Everyone is expected to participate in class discussions and crits.
