Intensive study of the modes and means of composing creative, non-fictional prose.
Class description
This course is a fundamentally interdisciplinary and cross-genre approach to prose writing in a manner which challenges narrative boundaries. To this end we will read and study the forms of several authors whose writing moves through more than one medium. We will also practice the craft of prose writing by putting it in relationship to photography, film, music, science, poetry, and art. A discussion centered class. Students will receive written feedback on original work as well as verbal feedback from the group.
