Guided survey and discussion of current literature in health related to personal, social, economic, and political topics. May have field component.

Class description

Writing about and through illness can change lives and enrich health care. This is the murky realm of narrative medicine, the hybrid offspring of medicine and literature. In this class we will practice close reading of a wide range of narrative medicine writings, and we will learn ways to incorporate writing into our lives and our work.
