Capstone Research in Environmental Science II

Second course of a two-quarter capstone sequence. Completion of projects planned in the previous quarter. Prerequisite: BES 492.

Class description

This is the second class of a 2-quarter sequence (BES 492+493). In this class students will complete environmental science projects that were planned in the previous quarter. Students will learn to plan and carry out their independent projects and present the results in both written and oral formats.

Student learning goals

General method of instruction

Mostly, students are conducting their own independent research, with oversite and guidance from the instructor. There is a small amount of classroom lecture on topics that are common to all students.

Recommended preparation

This is a senior level, capstone course sequence in the BES program. BES 301, 302, 311, 315, 492 and stats are all required.

Class assignments and grading

Students will complete a significant capstone project.

Conduct of project work. Written report on project. Oral presenation of work.
