Special Topics in Education

Class description

Teaching elementary mathematics requires specialized knowledge of the discipline. This course is designed to help you develop knowledge of the mathematical content needed to teach elementary mathematics. Our work will focus on developing an understanding of:

number and operations student solutions and errors mathematical representations academic language

While our primary focus is content, not methods for teaching, the ways we engage in tasks and discussions will mirror current practices in effective teaching and learning of mathematics.
