Class description

Designing Game Worlds The class will look at how worlds are built through the development of transmedia properties which is the art of developing media properties across multiple media platforms. Particular focus of the use of games as part of the world building process.

General method of instruction

Class will explore a variety of mediums through lectures, case studies, in class discussions and hands on development of transmedia properties both individually and in groups.

Recommended preparation

Focus will be on the use of games as a world building tool, so interest in games is important.
