Class description
This class (for ATP students specifically) will focus issues of educational inequality and some of the factors that contribute to such inequality, including stereotypes, testing, and tracking.
Student learning goals
Develop an intellectual community that also provides a basic introduction to UW Bothell campus resources.
Help ATP students better understand college course expectations in preparation for their success at UW Bothell.
Develop some fundamental understanding about the role that stereotypes, high-stakes testing, and tracking play in educational inequality - both in students own lives and in the population more generally.
Produce a mini-autoethnography, and to develop other reading and writing strategies.
General method of instruction
Interactive activities, only brief lectures, class discussions/seminar, small group work, writing, and reflection.

Class assignments and grading
Completion relative to the instructor's expectations.
