Various topics designed to respond to curricular interests and needs for first-year students. Offered: AWSp.

Class description

This course is designed to help students develop team leader competencies needed to succeed in any leadership situation. These competencies include understanding ourselves and identifying our strengths and challenges, connecting with others and building trust, and managing change and influencing others.

Student learning goals

Observe and evaluate the behaviors of effective team leaders

Identify and facilitate the stages of team development

Practice problem solving in a collaborative environment

Use dialogue as a means for collective team learning

Practice the elements of effective conflict resolution

Practice giving and receiving feedback

General method of instruction
