Class description

In this course we will investigate the increasingly critical role of financial management in non-financial business organizations. The course emphasizes financial statement analysis, financial forecasting, time value of money, valuation of various classes of securities, and the estimation and analysis of cash flows in the capital budgeting process. One of our goals is to remove the mystery out of the world of popular finance, by establishing a framework of principles that apply in a variety of situations. These include not only applications in a business setting but personal financial decisions such as retirement, investments, educational savings.
