Operations and Project Management

Examines service and manufacturing processes that deliver value to customers, introduces concepts and tools for critical analysis, emphasizes operating priorities (quality, cost, delivery, flexibility, social responsibility) an the underlying factors that support them. Prerequisite: minimum grade of 1.7 in B BUS 310.

Class description

The course will cover the core function of operations within a business and how managers may effectively involves themselves in operations. The course material includes the text of Krajewski, Ritzman, and Malhorta, "Operations Management: Processes and Supply Chain, 9th edition" Pearson Prentice Hall, 2009 ISBN: 0-13-606576-7. An unbounded version of the book with MyOMlab is available to students through the UWB bookstore. Also, the class will read Miller and Schenk, "All I need to Know about manufacturing I learned in Joe's garage" Bayrock Press, 2004 ISBNL 0-9630439-3-5.
