Cinema Studies Program

College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Comparative Literature

This proposal is designed to support multiple program development goals for the newly created Cinema Studies Program within Comparative Literature. Its various aspects are all intended to foster the growth of a program that combines academic and practical training, that is interdisciplinary in terms of faculty involvement and course offerings, and that is international in its expectations about what students must experience and learn. Its components include funds for program and curricular development (with a particular focus on service learning opportunities), an exploratory faculty exchange with the Tacoma branch campus, Interdisciplinary Writing Program involvement with upper division courses, and materials acquisition.
