Chemical Engineering Distance Learning Modules

College of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering will develop three core courses as distance learning classes in order to accommodate undergraduate students participating in off-campus internships and international study programs; to streamline undergraduate course offerings using new technologies; and to improve our graduate programs.

In order to accommodate students who want to participate in off-campus internships and international study opportunities while still completing their program of study on schedule, we will offer a key set of courses (CHEM E 340, 435, and 465) by distance learning. In conjunction with the College of Engineering EDGE office, the UWired program, and UW Extension, we will develop a set of videotaped lectures on CD-ROM, a workbook, homework, exams, and a website for each of these courses, as well as methods for assessing student learning.
