Inside the Back Rooms: Retired D.C. Powerbroker to Visit UWT

Book jacket of The Wicked Wine of Democracy

Long-time Washington, D.C. dealmaker Joseph S. Miller visits UW Tacoma in late October to discuss his new book, The Wicked Wine of Democracy: A Memoir of a Political Junkie 1948-1995.  A political operative and practicing lobbyist, Miller went from being a journalist in Seattle in the early 1950s to working on the campaigns of such important political figures as Warren G. Magnuson, Henry "Scoop" Jackson, Frank Church, William Proxmire and John F. Kennedy.

Now retired and living in Washington, D.C., Miller also wrote and edited for the Lewiston Morning Tribune, Boise Daily StatesmanOregon Journal and Seattle Post-Intelligencer before beginning his career as a media consultant for political campaigns and a lobbyist for a variety of unions and associations.

For more information about attending this special presentation, check your UWT alumni events page.
