Faculty in Transition

Jeremy Sappington
Jeremy Sappington

Jeremy Sappington, senior lecturer in the Department of Health Services, plans to step down as director of the Undergraduate Public Health Program at the end of this academic year, a position he has held since 2005. Jeremy teaches introductory courses in organizational management to graduate students as well as advising undergraduates enrolled in the public health track of the Arts & Sciences Individualized Studies Program.

Carolyn (Cindy) Watts, professor in the Department of Health Services, will be leaving us in September, after 35 years at the UW, when she becomes chair of the Department of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She is looking forward to the professional opportunities and challenges in her new position, as well as being closer to all the health policy activity at the federal level. In addition to directing the Health Policy Analysis and Process track of the MPH program, the Extended MPH program, and the Resource Center for Health Policy, Cindy is active in other department degree programs and is core faculty at the Institute for Public Health Genetics.
