DEOHS biennial report

The 2009 DEOHS biennial report is now available! See what the department is up to and where some of its alumni are today.

New podcasts! If you weren’t able to attend Dr. Grace John-Stewart’s presentation, Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV-1: From Discovery to Delivery, or Dr. Howard Koh’s December lecture on Leadership in the Public Health System: Federal, State, and Local, you have another chance. Go to the Podcasts section of our Web site and follow the easy directions.

  • Dr. John-Stewart is professor of Global Health, professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and professor of Epidemiology. She also directs the UW Center for AIDS and STD.
  • Dr. Koh is assistant secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and oversees the Office of Public Health and Science, the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, and the Office of the Surgeon General. He also serves as senior public health adviser to the Secretary.
SPH sweatshirt

We have new SPH gear for our new name! There’s a great new hooded sweatshirt in black or gray—now with a drawstring hood and a front pocket! We again have short-sleeve T-shirts, all cotton, in white, red and black. There’s a new tote bag, this time with a black bottom and straps. And our ceramic mugs are back in stock. All designs feature our distinctive soul catcher and the School’s new name. Head over to our gear page and check them out.
