The School’s dedicated staff was celebrated at our Annual Awards Ceremony on June 12.

Every year our departments and the Dean’s Office honor a staff member with an Outstanding Staff Award for the important roles they play in supporting our School’s faculty and students. One of those staff members also wins the Kenneth J. Anderson Staff Award in recognition of exceptional dedication. 2009 was obviously the year of the information technology specialist!

The following staff members were honored:

  • Linda Barnes,  Program Director, International Clinical Research Center, Global Health
  • Duane Beekly, Senior Computer Specialist, Epidemiology. Duane is also Director of the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center Computing Center and won the Anderson Staff Award for his significant contributions to the work of researchers at 30 centers nationwide.
  • James Fesalbon, Administrative Manager, Office of the Dean
  • Brian High, Systems Administrator, DEOHS
  • Carl Riches, Software Engineer, Biostatistics
  • Bob Shimabukuro, Manager of Departmental Computing, Health Services

On the University level, Rory Murphy, Graduate Program Manager in DEOHS, received the Graduate School’s first annual Graduate Program Assistant Service Award.
