Greetings from the Dean

Fall quarter is such an exciting time—new students bring fresh faces along with names, dreams, goals, and ambitions to get to know. And soon our faculty will come back to school rested and renewed after a bit of summertime relaxation.

From our work on educating highly qualified teachers and the exponential impact they have on P-12 teaching and learning, to our professional development programs and our international research and partnerships, the College is making a real difference. We are expanding the ways that people connect and learn from one another.

I know that all of our alums are making wonderful contributions. From Verna Ness’s upcoming journey to teach at Gaziantep University in Turkey to James Geizler’s Music Project and the work of Washington’s governor, Christine Gregoire, the work adds up. You, our alums, contribute to our city, our state, and, not infrequently, the nation. In this issue, you’ll read about faculty awards and honors and meet new members of our community.

Collectively we are an important force in education and our success merits celebration. Thank you for all that you do.

Yours,
