Tireless Volunteers Participate in Career Discovery Week

During the last week in January, alumni and friends braved the cold winter nights and came to the Seattle campus to speak candidly and encouragingly to undergraduate and graduate students and alumni about jobs in journalism and other communication fields. The last event of the week was a lively networking event hosted by Jenni Hogan of KIRO TV.

Students and alumni gave the events high marks. Communication senior Jeni Ayers says “the communication department put on the best Career Discovery Week events!” (Ayers came away from the networking event with an invitation to interview for an internship.)

The Department gives a heartfelt thanks to all the tireless volunteers who willingly offered their invaluable time to mentor the Career Discovery Week students and alumni looking for direction during this challenging time in the job market.
