With spring on the horizon, things are warming up across the University as we delve deeper into the new year and prepare for the second half of the academic year.
Continued economic challenges have become the status quo, so for many of us the nature of the game now is making the most of what we have. As we turn our attention toward maximizing our own resources, I am delighted to announce that POD will be offering webinars starting spring quarter. POD Webinars will provide a new, highly efficient way for you and your team members to pursue training and development at the UW.
POD is teaming up with People-OnTheGo to offer live webinars that focus on productivity and related areas. Whether you're a webinar newbie or a seasoned pro, I hope the articles in this issue of the Leading Edge will give you the information you need to assess the value and appreciate the appeal of these new offerings.
I am incredibly excited about this new option and anticipate it will greatly enrich your managerial toolbox. Providing staff members at all levels with training opportunities continues to be a meaningful way to motivate employees and reward a job well done, especially when other forms of recognition are limited. In addition, even busy leaders like ourselves must carve out time to learn new tools and techniques in order to stay ahead of the curve.
