Books are our passion, and at University Book Store, we especially love sharing their joy with our youngest readers.

During the holidays, one of our favorite traditions is our free StoryTime with Santa. With magical tales, holiday treats, and free photos with Santa, it’s one event you and your little ones just can’t miss! This year, Santa will be visiting our U District store on Saturday, December 13 at 11 a.m. So bring your kiddos and your camera for a fun-filled time of holiday cheer.

Not able to make it to the U District StoryTime? Santa will also be visiting our Mill Creek store on Wednesday, December 10 and our Bellevue store on Thursday, December 11.

Like Santa’s best helpers, our childrens booksellers are always excited to share their favorite book recommendations with young readers and their families. This holiday season, they’ve even compiled a list of all their favorite picks for kids and teens!

From delightful picture books like Sam & Dave Dig a Hole to fun stories for middle readers like Dory Fantasmagory and engaging novels for young adults like I’ll Give You the Sun, their diverse selection of handpicked titles includes something for nearly every age and interest.

This year, our booksellers have also gathered a list of must-read titles in the increasingly popular genre of graphic novels. Several of their favorites include Sisters by Raina Telgemeier, Explorer: The Hidden Doors edited by Kazu Kibuishi, and In Real Life by Cory Doctorow and Jen Wang.

Whether your children are looking for holiday reading or you’re searching for a great gift, stop by one of our stores and let our booksellers help you find the perfect books for the kids in your life.
