Spring Scholarship Brunch

Eyewitness to an Exploding Volcano – Mt. St. Helens

Wednesday, April 22 | 10 am – 12 noon | HUB Lyceum

Join your UWRA friends in celebrating the 2020 UWRA Scholars and Fellows. After a delicious seated brunch, we’ll introduce these exceptional students.

UWRA member, Keith Ronnholm, who witnessed and photographed the May 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens from a vantage point only 10 miles away will recount his adventure, as he fled the onrushing ash cloud, and dodged falling rocks. The talk will be a visual treat as Keith will draw from an extensive collection of images, both his and those from other eyewitnesses, to document the dramatic events that occurred in 1980. Keith is a retired research scientist with the University of Washington, where he deployed and maintained climate monitoring buoys for NOAA.

Registration information will be posted in the Spring.
