Membership Renewal Information

We hope that you and your loved ones are well as we all work together to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Following the newest directives from Governor Inslee and President Cauce, UWRA staff are working from home and staying away from the office. As we adjust to this new way of working, there will be some temporary changes to our processes.

Here is how you may be affected:

If you have mailed your renewal recently, we have not deposited your check and may not for some time. We will process all checks and mail your receipt and membership sticker as soon as we are able to return to our office. Please rest assured that your check is locked in a secure location, and your membership will continue in good standing in the meantime.
If you are due to renew soon, we will be sending renewal reminders via email only for now. If you are comfortable doing so, we encourage you to renew your membership online via credit card at uw.edu/uwra/membership. If you prefer to renew by check and have not yet mailed a payment, please hold off for now. We will notify members when we are able to receive and process check payments again. Please rest assured your membership will continue in good standing during this time.
If you need to reach our staff, email will be the best option for now.

If you have any questions about these changes, or if you are concerned about your ability to renew your membership under the current circumstances, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us to discuss options.

We want to be open and welcoming with UWRA resources at this time. Since we can’t get together, we are working on plans to expand and extend our print and electronic communications in the coming weeks. Please send your reactions, ideas and questions to retiremt@uw.edu. We love hearing from you, especially now.
