UW Information Technology

Information Management

We provide University-wide leadership in the development, management and delivery of data and information for decision makers at every level of the University. We focus on information platforms and analytics while broadening and deepening our collaboration and engagement with partners across the UW.

We also support enterprise systems that enable the critical business operations of the University, including the UW’s Workday human resources, payroll, and benefits system. We collaborate on initiatives to modernize the University’s business processes and systems, and we are a key partner in the Finance Transformation program to transform the UW’s financial systems, policies and processes.

This division is responsible for:

Enterprise Data Integration (EDI) focuses on data platforms and integration, and is responsible for defining and implementing the University’s enterprise data integration strategy. Supports enterprise web services, the Enterprise Integration Platform, the Enterprise Data Warehouse, and data analysis and design.

Enterprise Reporting & Analytics (ERA) enables increased focus on data analytics and reporting capabilities, expanding the University’s ability to develop products and deliver data to users. We deliver Business Intelligence tools and capabilities, data analytics, metadata management, and web applications, including Knowledge Navigator, UW Profiles and the Business Intelligence Portal.

Enterprise Administrative Applications (EAA) provides robust enterprise systems that are critical to support the University and are a prerequisite for expanding and evolving IM’s capabilities. We focus on Finance Solutions, ERP integrations, and enterprise systems for UW business units, including Environmental Health and Safety, and UW Facilities and Transportation.

Enterprise Content Management (ECM)  supports the University’s modernization goals by helping departments to create and manage electronic documents, automate business processes, comply with records retention policies and acquire electronic signatures. We deliver enterprise content management and electronic signature capabilities to the University.

IM Strategy & Engagement (ISE) provides capabilities to expand collaboration and build stronger partnerships across the University. Services include engagement management, program management, communications, and marketing
