Edward Chang, MD

Chief Resident, PGY-5




Edward Chang was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated with college and departmental honors from UCLA with a BS in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology. He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society upon graduation as well. He then earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and was inducted into the AOA Honor Society.

Dr. Chang’s research interests include prostate cancer detection using MRI-US fusion biopsy and active surveillance for prostate cancer. He is also the Director of Operations and Co-founder of, a website dedicated to guiding students who are interested in becoming physicians. His personal interests include basketball (Lakers), football (UCLA Bruins), kayaking (started when he moved to Seattle), ping pong and e-sports. He is an ENTJ on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and an 8 on the Enneagram.

His philosophy of care emphasizes knowing a patient holistically and being there for them especially in their time of need. He values empathetic and understandable communication and tries to avoid medical jargon when speaking with patients.
