Alex Borchert

Acting Instructor, Genitourinary Trauma and Reconstruction




Alex Borchert, MD, is an acting instructor and Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons fellow at the University of Washington Department of Urology. His clinical interests are reconstructive urology and robotic surgery, with a particular interest in the utilization of robotics for complex genitourinary reconstruction.

Dr. Borchert received his medical degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
His research interests include expanding the use of robotics in genitourinary reconstruction, and identifying and eliminating barriers to reconstructive urologic care for patients in rural settings.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Borchert enjoys spending time with his family, and running, swimming, backpacking, and kayaking.
