Information for Visual Arts and Design Participants

My Symposium

Presentations for this session must include art forms created as part of or as a result of the research process. These may include paintings, drawings, printing, sculpture, architectural models, digital arts (including 3D print modeling), experimental media, jewelry, textiles, photography/film, mixed media, and more. The presentations will be pre-recorded. Submissions may include supplemental links for the product if there are elements of the project that presenters would like the audience to engage with (e.g. podcast, website, etc.).

Prior to your presentation

An orientation will be scheduled prior to Symposium day, check your MySymposium to sign up for an orientation once your application is accepted.

  • Attend an Orientation. Orientations are required to provide you with additional information and guidance on how to prepre your presentation and help answer questions about the session.¬†You may select one date to attend. If you are part of a group, please coordinate so you come at the same time. Please make sure each member planning on attending the orientation signs up.
  • Invite your friends, family, peers, and mentors to your session on Symposium Day!

On the day of the Symposium

On Friday, May 21, check-in to your session about 15 minutes early to connect with the moderator and session assistant. Your pre-recorded presentation will be shared with the audience in real-time and be followed by a live Q&A session. You will be expected to stay in your session the full time.
