UW Global Research, Internship, & Service Program (GRISP) is a new campus-wide program offered by UW Study Abroad to all undergraduate and graduate students. Targeting students seeking independent internship, research, and service-learning experiences around the world, GRISP provides a vetted network of opportunities and a common pathway for students to reflect on shared thematic questions, and connect with each other in some of the most intensive collaborative community building work available through UW Study Abroad. It is a partnership between UW Study Abroad and Omprakash, a Seattle non-profit that creates transformative educational experiences by connecting grassroots social impact organizations around the world with an audience of volunteers, donors, and classrooms that can learn from and support their work, while building mutually beneficial relationships and learning through dialogue.

IFE.logoIFE French Internships

IFE offers UW students a unique opportunity to improve their proficiency in French while interning in Francophone Europe.

IFE programs turn the European workplace into an effective learning space, a broad interface with another culture whereby students become fluent in French, deeply familiar with contemporary European society(ies), and more knowledgeable in their chosen field of study or work, gaining both know-how and more comparative knowledge.

IFE programs are a three-stage adventure, beginning with thorough training, continuing into the internship period when well-prepared students participate in a working team of European professionals in their chosen field, and culminating in a research project carried out with the help of an IFE research adviser.
