Special Topics in Biocultural Anthropology

Delineation and analysis of a specific problem or a more general area in biocultural anthropology. Offered occasionally by visiting or resident faculty.

Class description

ANTHROPOLOGY OF WOMEN'S HEALTH Explores health issues specific to women, in comparative perspective, from sociocultural and biomedical angles of inquiry. Considers wide variations within seemingly universal female reproductive life-cycle health issues, as well as local gender-specific health impacts of seemingly universal disease processes.
