Topics in Studio Art and Practice

Examines a variety of cutting edge, emerging, and interdisciplinary approaches in studio art and practice. Topics vary.

Class description

How is street art realized and fictionalized in video games? How do movies depict artistic practice? How has the internet change the perception of the comic book industry and blurred the lines between art and comics. This course explores how art and pop culture inform each other's creation and development. We will be looking outside of the traditional concepts of fine art into such realms as video games, movies, street art, comics and the internet. Be prepared to think outside of the Xbox!
