Orders in Conduct Proceedings

Initial Orders

At the conclusion of the fact finding stage, a respondent (and complainant, in cases involving sexual misconduct allegations) will receive an initial order. If the respondent is found responsible, a sanction will also be imposed. The initial order will also include a brief written statement of the reasons for the decision and an explanation of how to request administrative review of the initial order and the time frame to do so.

The respondent (and/or complainant) may request an administrative review of an initial order within 21 days of the initial order.  If an administrative review is not requested within 21 days of service of the initial order, the initial order shall become the final order.

Final Orders

If sanctions are imposed in the initial order, they will be implemented when a final order becomes effective in the University’s conduct proceeding.
