This step allows you to either assign a new budget number to the action, or confirm the budget number automatically assumed by SAGE, based on related items.<\/p>\n<p>When you click the link, a pop-up window displays. The set of read-only fields provides information about the action you are working on.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Admin Action or Funding Action\u00a0Number<\/li>\n<li>Current Status<\/li>\n<li>Short Title<\/li>\n<li>Principal Investigator<\/li>\n<li>Sponsor<\/li>\n<li>Budget Number<\/li>\n<li>Budget Biennium<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following image shows this dialog.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-639\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/sera_fa_pac_assign_confirm_budget.jpg\" alt=\"assign confirm budget number dialog\" width=\"691\" height=\"418\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The editable fields are:<\/p>\n<table class=\"table table-bordered\">\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th>Field<\/th>\n<th>Description<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"25%\"><b>Type of Budget<\/b><\/td>\n<td width=\"75%\">Select the appropriate budget category from the drop-down menu. Even if the action already has a Budget Number, the type will not display.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Budget Number<\/b><\/td>\n<td>When you select the Type of Budget, the system will automatically populate the Budget Number field with the next available budget number of that type. If the action already has a Budget Number, it will display.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Budget Biennium<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Once the Budget Number is populated, the system will display the Biennium value. If the action already has a Budget Biennium, it will display.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Click the <b>Save<\/b> button to complete the process, or the <b>Cancel<\/b> link to return to the action without making any changes.<\/p>\n<p>After you add a budget number, the\u00a0<strong>Notify Campus<\/strong>\u00a0link\u00a0will appear on the left navigation menu, and the system will set the\u00a0<strong>Last Action Taken<\/strong>\u00a0to &#8220;Budget # Assigned\/Confirmed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> When an item is returned to OSP after the Budget Number Assign\/Confirmed step, you will have to repeat this step once OSP re-sends it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You will see the Assign\/Confirm Budget Number link on the left navigation menu.
