Create and Complete a Pending Disclosure<\/h2>\neGC1 application owners or editors generally start the process in SAGE<\/strong><\/h3>\nClick the Send Disclosure Notifications<\/strong> button on the PI, Personnel, & Organizations page of your eGC1 application. The system will notify all investigators that they must complete a disclosure and will also create a \u201cpending\u201d disclosure in FIDS linked to the eGC1 application for each investigator. The system will only send one notification to an investigator, so you can click the button again as needed.<\/p>\nNote: <\/strong>If you start routing the eGC1 application without having sent a disclosure notification to any of the investigators, the system will automatically do this step for you. The system-generated notifications are sent twice a day, at mid-day and overnight.<\/p>\nWe recommend you click the button early in the process to give investigators the maximum amount of time to complete their disclosures.<\/p>\n
Investigators: The following steps to complete the disclosure process in FIDS are included in your notification:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n- Open the notification email<\/strong> from fidshelp@uw.edu with an \u201cAction Required\u201d subject line. Click the link to the FIDS homepage or just browse<\/strong> to\u00a0http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/fids\/<\/a> directly.<\/li>\n
- Log in to FIDS<\/strong> with your UW NetID and password.<\/li>\n
- In the Action Items section near the top of the Profile page, click the\u00a0Complete Disclosure <\/strong>button for the appropriate eGC1 application. The button appears to the right of the pending disclosure information.<\/li>\n
- Walk through the system-prompted steps to disclose whether or not you have SFI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Create Your Own eGC1 Application Disclosure<\/h2>\n
Investigators who have not yet received the disclosure notification and don’t want to wait for it can follow these steps:<\/p>\n
\n- Log in to FIDS at http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/fids\/<\/a>\u00a0and look for the Action Items<\/strong> section near the top of the page.<\/li>\n
- Click the Create New Disclosure<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/li>\n
- Indicate that you are creating a disclosure for an eGC1. On the next screen, select the appropriate eGC1 from the list.<\/li>\n
- Continue to work through the system-prompted steps to indicate whether or not you have SFI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Create Your Own CoMotion or\u00a0 Human Subjects (IRB) Disclosure<\/h2>\n\n- Log in to FIDS at http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/fids\/\u00a0<\/a>and look for the Action Items<\/strong> section near the top of the page.<\/li>\n
- Click the Create New Disclosure<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/li>\n
- Indicate that you are creating a disclosure for a CoMotion Technology Transfer or Human Subjects (IRB) approval.<\/li>\n
- Check the checkbox next to the Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Attestation.<\/li>\n
- Click Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Select either CoMotion Technology Transfer Agreement or Human Subjects Activity and fill in the appropriate information<\/a>.<\/li>\n
- Continue to work through the system-prompted steps to indicate whether or not you have SFI.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
Create an SFI disclosure for new or changed entities, or an annual update<\/h2>\n\n- Log in to FIDS at http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/fids\/<\/a> and look for the Action Items<\/strong> section near the top of the page.<\/li>\n

To comply with requirements in the federal CHIPS and Science Act, all investigators disclosing in the Financial Interest Disclosure System (FIDS) now see an additional required checkbox to confirm that they are not involved with a Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Program (MFTRP). Reference information is available through on-screen links.<\/p>\n
Submission of a FIDS disclosure with the required MFTRP checkbox will serve as investigator attestation for purposes of proposal submission review by OSP.<\/p>\n
