This section provides instructions for creating a Funding Action via the following methods:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#childOfApp\">Creating an FA as a child of an application<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#withinAnApp\">Creating an FA while within an application<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The best practice is to create an FA\u00a0as the child of the appropriate application.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"childOfApp\">To create an FA as a child of an application from the Tasklist<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>From the SPAERC Applications Tasklist, search for the application for which you need to create an FA.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Actions+<\/strong> next to the application number, and then select <strong>Create New Action<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the Unidentified Admin Action (AA) form that opens, hover over <strong>Change the Action Type<\/strong> and select <strong>Funding Action<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to confirm that you want to convert this Admin Action (AA) to a Funding Action.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>When you change the Admin Action to an FA, the prefix of the system assigned ID changes from AA to FA. The parent of the FA is the application from which you created the AA.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"withinAnApp\">To create an FA while within an application<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>From the SPAERC Applications Tasklist, search for the application for which you need to create an FA.<\/li>\n<li>Click the application link to open up the application<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Admin Actions<\/strong> tab at the top of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create New Admin Action<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n<li>In the Unidentified Admin Action (AA) form that opens, hover over <strong>Change the Action Type<\/strong> and select <strong>Funding Action<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2234\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/spaerc_create_funding_action.jpg\" alt=\"create a funding action\" width=\"533\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You will receive this warning message.
