{"id":65842,"date":"2026-04-17T11:06:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T18:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/new-tools\/spaerc\/topics\/cycles\/relating-cycles\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T11:06:15","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T18:06:15","slug":"relating-cycles","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/new-tools\/spaerc\/topics\/cycles\/relating-cycles\/","title":{"rendered":"Relating Cycles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You can relate one cycles to one another.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"relate-cycle\">Relate Two Cycles<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Open one of the two cycles you want to relate.<\/li>\n<li>Under Basic Cycle Data, select\u00a0<strong>Relate Cycle<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Search for and select the cycle you want to relate to the one you&#8217;re currently viewing.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your search criteria, and then click <strong>Search<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the results list, find the Cycle you want to relate, and click <strong>Relate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2289\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/spaerc_cycle_relate_cycle.jpg\" alt=\"cycle relate link\" width=\"762\" height=\"137\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The page will refresh and display the current cycle with the selected cycle now related.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"view-related-cycle\">View a Related Cycle<\/h2>\n<p>From the View Related Cycle drop-down menu, select the cycle you want to view, and then click <strong>Go<\/strong>. This will open the related cycle in the same window.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/spearc_cycle_select_related.jpg\" alt=\"cycle select related to view\" width=\"322\" height=\"106\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"remove-related-cycle\">Remove a Related Cycle<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Find and open either one of the related Cycles.<\/li>\n<li>Under Basic Cycle Data, from the View Related Cycle drop-down menu, select the Cycle you want to remove from the relationship.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Delete Relationship<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2292\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/spearc_cycle_delete_related.jpg\" alt=\"cycle delete related cycle\" width=\"300\" height=\"79\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"4\">In the confirmation window that opens, click <strong>Confirm<\/strong> to delete the relationship.
