{"id":65809,"date":"2026-04-17T11:05:46","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T18:05:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/new-tools\/spaerc\/topics\/approvals\/how-flow-generated\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T11:05:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T18:05:46","slug":"how-flow-generated","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/new-tools\/spaerc\/topics\/approvals\/how-flow-generated\/","title":{"rendered":"How the Flow is Generated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The system adds reviewers to the Approval Flow based on a combination of the selected or primary position units specified in the eGC1 and the individual routing rules of those units.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The organization receiving funding<\/li>\n<li>The principal investigator&#8217;s primary position unit, and possibly the selected unit in cases where the PI has more than one job<\/li>\n<li>The primary position and selected UW organization code of any additional research personnel<\/li>\n<li>Any UW unit with a cost sharing commitment<\/li>\n<li>The academic units or central offices connected to certain compliance question explanations (See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/spaerc\/guide\/topics\/approvals\/compliance-reviewers\/\">Compliance Reviewers<\/a> for more details.)<\/li>\n<li>The additional organization unit reviewers added on the PI, Personnel, &amp; Organizations page<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each unit at the UW determines its own routing rules.
