{"id":65750,"date":"2026-04-17T11:04:52","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T18:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/new-tools\/spaerc\/topics\/admin-actions\/close-outs\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T11:04:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T18:04:52","slug":"close-outs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/new-tools\/spaerc\/topics\/admin-actions\/close-outs\/","title":{"rendered":"Close Outs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OSP uses a Close Out (CO) internally to track that the closeout of a sponsored program occurs in accordance with federal regulations, specific sponsor policies and the terms of the award within the timeframe required by the sponsor.<\/p>\n<p>To create a Close Out, follow the directions to <a title=\"Create an Admin Action\" href=\"\/research\/tools\/spaerc\/guide\/topics\/admin-actions\/create-admin-action\/\">Create an Admin Action<\/a>, and then <a href=\"\/research\/tools\/spaerc\/guide\/topics\/admin-actions\/convert-admin-action\">convert the AA<\/a> to a CO. This action is usually the child of an Application.<\/p>\n<p>When you create a CO, you must specify the type by selecting a checkbox under <strong>Close Out Action<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Close Out Field Definitions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Close Out has specific fields in addition to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/spaerc\/guide\/topics\/admin-actions\/common-admin-action-fields\/\">common admin action<\/a> fields.<\/p>\n<table class=\"table table-bordered\">\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th width=\"40%\">Field<\/th>\n<th width=\"60%\">Description<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Award End Date<\/td>\n<td>The ending date of the award.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Closeout Deadline Date<\/td>\n<td>The deadline as defined by the sponsor.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Closeout Delinquent Date<\/td>\n<td>This is a read-only field, and is equal to the Closeout Deadline Date plus 30 days.
