For additional information on policy, review the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/myresearch-lifecycle\/setup\/subawards\/\">UW Research Subawards<\/a> material.<\/p>\n<p>There are two types of subawards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outgoing subaward: UW portions some work to another institution.<\/li>\n<li>Incoming subaward: Awarded institution portions some work to UW.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sage.washington.edu\/era\/uwnetid\/subawards\/Tasklist\">SAGE Subawards<\/a> is for outgoing subawards only.<\/p>\n<p>When UW portions work out to another institution, that institution is\u00a0referred to as the subrecipient.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/sage\/guide\/subawards\/subaward-access-permissions\">Subaward Access and Permissions<\/a> article describes who can create or edit subawards and subaward actions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A subaward is a formal legal agreement between the UW and another organization.
