SAGE will look for a match within the following fields:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sponsor or Agency Name<\/li>\n<li>Acronym<\/li>\n<li>Previous Names<\/li>\n<li>Related Names<\/li>\n<li>Parent Name<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The results list will display the following data for each match, if available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sponsor or Agency Name<\/li>\n<li>Acronym<\/li>\n<li>Previous\/Related Names<\/li>\n<li>Parent Name<\/li>\n<li>Sponsor Type<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12520\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/Choose_Sponsor_Results.png\" alt=\"Choose Sponsor Results\" width=\"669\" height=\"434\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the desired Sponsor from the results list. The modal will close and the data for your sponsor will display in your eGC1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note: Sponsors populated in SAGE are also required to be maintained in the <a href=\"https:\/\/fin-s-web22.finance.uw.edu\/fin\/fecdm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Funding Entity Core Data Management (FECDM) database<\/a>. <\/strong>If the sponsor does not exist in the FECDM database with a Funding Entity ID, an alert will appear in the Funding Entity ID field notifying you that an update is required.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/FECDM_Alert-1024x154.png\" alt=\"Funding Entity I D Update Required\" width=\"665\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you cannot find your sponsor or the alert &#8220;Update Required&#8221; displays in the field, select &#8220;Request sponsor setup in Funding Entity System&#8221; to request that your sponsor be added to the FECDM database. The following is an image of the form that will open:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11550 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/SponsorRequestForm-1.png\" alt=\"Sponsor Request Form\" width=\"663\" height=\"501\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fill out the required fields of <strong>Entity Name<\/strong> (sponsor name), <strong>Your Name<\/strong>, and<strong> Your Email<\/strong>. Also provide the sponsor&#8217;s <strong>Website Address<\/strong>, as well as any additional information about the sponsor to be included in the database. Select <strong>Submit<\/strong> to send this request to a FECDM administrator; the sponsor will be created in the FECDM database and selected in SAGE within 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve selected the sponsor, the <strong>Sponsor name<\/strong>, <strong>Funding Entity ID<\/strong>, <strong>Sponsor type<\/strong>, and <strong>Parent sponsor name<\/strong> (if there is one) display.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12510\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/egc1_sponsor_section_fecdm.jpg\" alt=\"E G C one sponsor section\" width=\"631\" height=\"474\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Sponsor address and contact fields are not required, but we strongly recommend that you fill them in, as the values are used in the sponsor cover letter created by OSP and when OSP needs to contact the sponsor for agreement negotiations.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For the <strong>Address, City, State, Zip, <\/strong>and <strong>Country <\/strong>fields, enter the application mailing address of the sponsor as it appears in the sponsor&#8217;s application instructions or enter the name and web address (URL) of the sponsor&#8217;s electronic proposal submission system (for example, ASSIST, Grants.gov, Research.gov) in the <strong>Address<\/strong> field.<\/li>\n<li>For the <strong>Contact Name, Contact Phone, <\/strong>and <strong>Contact Email<\/strong> fields, enter the information of the person to be contacted with questions or issues (optional).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following image shows the Originating Sponsor information:<\/p>\n<p><strong data-renderer-mark=\"true\">Note: <\/strong>NAA eGC1s should select No to answer &#8220;Does the funding originate from a different entity than the sponsor listed above (flow-through)?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12511\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/egc1_originating_sponsor_details_fecdm.jpg\" alt=\"E G C one originating sponsor details\" width=\"544\" height=\"191\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The sponsor is the entity or agency to which you are applying for funding.
