If you are uncertain whether to create an Award Setup Request or a Modification Request, refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/faq\/should-i-create-an-award-setup-request-or-modification-request\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How do I know if I should create an Award Setup Request or a Modification Request?<\/a> FAQ.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"before_getting_started\">Before Getting Started<\/h2>\n<p>In order to create an Award Setup Request, you will need to be listed on the <strong>Contacts and Access<\/strong> page of the proposal eGC1. If you are not already listed, you will need to ask one of the owners to add you to the eGC1 as an owner or with read\/write access. You can view the owners on the eGC1 by going to the <strong>eGC1 Forms<\/strong> section in SAGE, clicking on <strong>Advanced Search<\/strong>, entering the eGC1 and clicking <strong>Search<\/strong>. In the results row, click on the <strong>Contacts<\/strong> link at the far right, to view the Owners that can grant you access to the eGC1.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Read-Only access will not provide access to edit or create award items.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/createnewASR_egc1contacts.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13824 size-full\" style=\"border: black solid 1px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/createnewASR_egc1contacts.png\" alt=\"Contacts button on eCG1\" width=\"405\" height=\"144\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As an alternative, an existing eGC1 contact can create the ASR, and add you as an award preparer to the ASR, for you to continue the process.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"create_a_request\">Create a Request<\/h2>\n<p>To create an ASR, start at the <strong>Awards<\/strong> tab and select the <strong>Create A Request<\/strong> button at the upper right.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: You can also start a new request from the <strong>Award Requests<\/strong> tasklist.<\/p>\n<p>The following image shows the <strong>Awards<\/strong> tab in SAGE.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/awards_tab.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11542\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/awards_tab.jpg\" alt=\"awards tab in SAGE\" width=\"1250\" height=\"141\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When you select the <strong>Create A Request<\/strong> button, a menu displays with the option to create an Award Setup Request.<\/p>\n<p>The following image shows this menu:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/Creat-a-Request.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13638 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/Creat-a-Request.png\" alt=\"Create a Request button selection: options for creating an Award Setup Request, creating an OSP-GCA Mod, or creating a GCA-only Mod\" width=\"641\" height=\"719\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Award Setup Request<\/strong> from the menu. Use the search to find the associated eGC1 application. You can search by eGC1 number, PI (Principal Investigator), or Short Title (short name), then select the desired eGC1.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/create_award_setup_request.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11545 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/create_award_setup_request.jpg\" alt=\"Image for create award setup request box. Search eCG1s by number, PI, or short name.\" width=\"516\" height=\"152\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Only eGC1s in Approved status and not already linked to an Award Setup Request will display. eGC1s for Non-Award Agreement or Pre-Applications will not display.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/createarequestlist.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13780 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/createarequestlist.png\" alt=\"Image of Create Award Setup Request dialog box. Select the application associated with this award\" width=\"329\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>An <strong>Award Setup Request<\/strong> form will open, displaying the <strong>General Information<\/strong> page by default. SAGE auto-fills details from your eGC1 (Short Title, Full Title, Sponsor, Bill to Sponsor, and PI).<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"navigating_the_asr\">Navigating the ASR<\/h2>\n<p>The left navigation menu displays all of the required sections of the ASR at top, and the additional <strong>Approval<\/strong> flow, <strong>Access &amp; Roles<\/strong>, and <strong>Comments &amp; History<\/strong> sections at the bottom. You can use the left navigation to switch between forms, or within each form you will see a <strong>Next Section<\/strong>\u00a0button in the lower right navigation as an alternative.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/ASRnextsectionbutton.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-13826 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/ASRnextsectionbutton.png\" alt=\"Image of the Next Section button\" width=\"113\" height=\"42\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The following image shows the navigation menu, with the <strong>General Information<\/strong> section highlighted. You can also update the award\u2019s start and end dates, funding amounts, and other details, as needed.
