{"id":553,"date":"2016-09-26T07:57:50","date_gmt":"2016-09-26T14:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/?page_id=553"},"modified":"2023-02-13T12:53:55","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T20:53:55","slug":"equipment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/myresearch-lifecycle\/closeout\/equipment\/","title":{"rendered":"Equipment and Materials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Considerations for equipment and materials at the end of an award and closeout of research project.<\/p>\n<h2>Final Equipment Inventory Report<\/h2>\n<p>Final Equipment Inventory reports (aka closeout property reports) list all property purchased under a sponsored program. This includes property under subrecipients and subcontractors regardless of ownership. <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.uw.edu\/eio\/node\/1601\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UW&#8217;s Equipment Inventory Office (EIO)<\/a> prepares and submits closeout reports within 45 to 90 calendar days after the completion date of the award.<\/p>\n<h3>There are two types of reports:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Closeout Positive Property Report<\/strong>: an inventory listing all property purchased or furnished under the grant or contract regardless of ownership.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Closeout Negative Property Report<\/strong>: a report indicating that UW bought no property under the grant or contract.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>EIO works with the Principal Investigator and the department to resolve any inventory adjustments or liability determinations prior to submitting the closeout report to the sponsor.<\/p>\n<h2>Environmental Health and Safety (EH&amp;S) Considerations<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Researchers and their teams will need to review and complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehs.washington.edu\/system\/files\/resources\/lsm.pdf#page=140\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moving Out Checklist<\/a> in section 10 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehs.washington.edu\/resource\/laboratory-safety-manual-510\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UW Laboratory Safety Manual<\/a> to fulfill their health and safety obligations.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehs.washington.edu\/radiation\/radiation-use-authorization-rua\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Radiation Use Authorizations<\/a> are updated, inactivated, or terminated.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehs.washington.edu\/chemical\/hazardous-chemical-waste-disposal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">collection of remaining chemical inventory<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Considerations for equipment and materials at the end of an award and closeout of research project.
