Our policy precludes PIs and Co-Is from having multiple funded proposals within the same period. There are no restrictions on participating faculty or staff who are not PIs or Co-Is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Three Submissions Limit:<\/strong> A proposal that is not funded may be resubmitted twice, taking previous review comments into consideration. Any proposal can be submitted a maximum of three times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matching:<\/strong> The RRF may not be proposed as matching funds for another grant. (See the Office of Research <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/or\/matching-funds-request\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matching Funds Request<\/a> page for information and to make a request.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Overlap:<\/strong> <span class=\"TextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">Applications can be<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">submitted<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">to RRF<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\"> that have also been <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">submitted<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\"> to <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">external <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">funders<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">, but <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun CommentStart SCXW24136831 BCX2\">an RRF award <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">can<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">not be <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">used <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">if an external award<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\"> covers the same budget <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">items<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\">.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW24136831 BCX2\"> Support will not be provided merely to supplement or extend an ongoing funded research project<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Startup or Bridge Funding:<\/strong> The RRF is not intended to provide or supplement start-up funds for new faculty. RRF awards are not intended to serve as bridge funding when external sources of research support have been lost. The University program that supports faculty bridge funds is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/or\/bridge-funding-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bridge Funding Program<\/a>. Acceptance of an RRF award of $30,000 or more will make an individual ineligible for a Bridge Fund award. Applicants who apply to both programs simultaneously may receive one or the other award.
