{"id":25965,"date":"2018-10-19T10:15:26","date_gmt":"2018-10-19T17:15:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/?page_id=25965"},"modified":"2024-05-23T17:08:00","modified_gmt":"2024-05-24T00:08:00","slug":"sfi-review-for-sponsored-research-progress-reporting","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/sfi-review-for-sponsored-research-progress-reporting\/","title":{"rendered":"SFI Review for Sponsored Research Progress Reporting"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Who needs to disclose? <\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Investigators who have no Significant Financial Interest (SFI) are only required to submit a Financial Interest Disclosure System (FIDS) disclosure for a progress report if they have not submitted any other FIDS disclosure in the previous 12-months.<\/li>\n<li>Investigators who have SFI and are participating in Public Health Service-sponsored research with progress reports directly submitted to the sponsor (e.g., NIH <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/faq\/how-do-i-know-snap-eligible\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SNAP eligible<\/a> Research Performance Progress Report).<\/li>\n<li>Investigators who have a SFI should use the \u2018Annual Update\u2019 pathway in FIDS to submit a \u201cRelated Disclosure\u201d using the steps provided below.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>How do I disclose? <\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/research\/tools\/fids\/\">Financial Interest Disclosure System (FIDS)<\/a>,<\/li>\n<li>In the \u2018Investigator Details\u2019 box click the \u2018Create New Disclosure\u2019 button,<\/li>\n<li>On the \u2018Disclosure Type\u2019 page select the option for \u201cI need to add new SFI, change existing SFI, or for my annual update I need to reaffirm I have no SFI\u201d, click \u2018Next\u2019 button,<\/li>\n<li>On \u2018Disclose Significant Financial Interests\u2019 page (options and steps):\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>Editing existing SFI:\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Click the hyperlink for that entity in the \u2018Name of Entity\u2019 column,<\/li>\n<li>Make any needed changes, update summary as needed, click \u2018Next\u2019 button,<\/li>\n<li>To system prompt \u201cThis change will be applied to all disclosures that include this SFI that have not yet been reviewed by the Institutional Official\u201d click \u2018OK\u2019 button,<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Deleting SFI:\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Click the hyperlink for that entity in the \u2018Name of Entity\u2019 column,<\/li>\n<li>Click the trash can icon (located on the right side of the green bar between the page title \u2018Significant Financial Interests\u2019 and container title \u2018SFI Entity\u2019),<\/li>\n<li>To system prompt \u201cPlease provide a brief explanation for why you are deleting this SFI Entry\u201d provide a justification (e.g. activities ended &gt;12 months ago, compensation was less than $5,000, etc).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Adding new SFI:\n<ol type=\"i\">\n<li>Click \u2018Add new SFI\u2019 hyperlink in \u2018Significant Financial Interest (SFI) box,<\/li>\n<li>Add details, click \u2018Next\u2019 button,<\/li>\n<li>Once all changes are made, or if no changes are required, click \u2018Next\u2019 button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>On \u2018Complete Disclosure\u2019 page:\n<ol type=\"a\">\n<li>To relate this disclosure with ongoing research, under \u2018Related Sponsored Research Projects\u2019 heading select the box for \u2018Click here if this disclosure also pertains to other eGC1s.\u2019 Please note that your disclosure will be reviewed against each activity indicated and may therefore require additional processing time.<\/li>\n<li>Select any\/all eGC1s for PHS-Funded research or related Non-PHS Funded research<\/li>\n<li>Add or revise your \u2018Narrative\u2019 statement,<\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018Submit Disclosure\u2019 button<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>How do I request review?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Investigators or their supporting administrators should submit a notification to <a href=\"mailto:fcoirep@uw.edu\">fcoirep@uw.edu<\/a> to indicate submission of a \u201cRelated Disclosure\u201d or an indication that no disclosures are required.
