The Biology Imaging Facility



The Biology Imaging Facility provides training and access to microscopy instrumentation for the UW community as a recharge center. We maintain several confocal microscopes, 2 super resolution live cell imaging microscopes, 2 electron microscopes, and sample preparation labs.


Equipment: GE DeltaVision OMX SR super-resolution microscope, Leica SP5 laser scanning confocal microscope, Nikon A1R HD25 laser scanning confocal microscope, Olympus DSU spinning disk confocal microscope, Yokogawa CSU-X1 spinning disk confocal microscope, FEI Apreo VolumeScope, Philips CM100 transmission electron microscope, Denton DCP-1 critical point dryer, EMS 150T ES sputter coater, LKB 7801B and Dupont Sorvall glass knife makers, RMC PT-XL and MT6000 ultramicrotomes, and VirTis BT6KEL-85 freeze dryer
