The SAGE Suite

SAGE - the System to Administer Grants Electronically - is the web-based system used by faculty, administrators and staff to submit funding applications for consideration, route them electronically for approval, and request advance budget numbers. The core SAGE system allows you to carry out several tasks, including budget development, creating an eGC1, use Grant Runner to complete SF424 R&R forms for NIH opportunities, view approvals and submit a request for an advance.

SAGE Budget
SAGE Budget can help you create an accurate budget for your grant proposal by auto-populating data from payroll and financial systems, assisting you in selecting proper rates, and calculating totals automatically.
These are the electronic grants and contracts forms used to route your grant proposal through the University's internal compliance process.
Grant Runner
Grant Runner combines the eGC1 and sponsor forms for some NIH funding opportunities requiring SF424 R&R forms, including Modular, Detailed and Subaward Budgets. With the click of a button, OSP can electronically submit your application via Grants.gov to the sponsor. More about Grant Runner […]
An electronic routing engine that stages eGC1s for approval by associated departments, colleges, compliance offices, and the Office of Sponsored Programs.
This part of SAGE allows you to complete an online form to request an advance budget number.
This part of SAGE allows you to submit both new and modification subaward requests to OSP.

SPÆRC - Sponsored Projects Administration and Electronic Research Compliance - is the web-based system used by the Office of Sponsored Programs to receive funding applications from campus users, process awards and record modifications to existing records.

SERA - System for Electronic Research Administration - is the web-based system used by the Grant & Contract Accounting office. It supports receipt of the Advance Budget Request form and electronic account set-up for awarded projects.

FIDS - the Financial Interest Disclosure System is the web-based system used by Investigators for disclosing Significant Financial Interests related to research projects.

The SAGE Suite is the web-based system for supporting electronic Research Administration (eRA) at the University of Washington. The suite is comprised of three systems - SAGE, SPÆRC, and SERA - three views of a single database. Faculty, administrators, and staff submit funding applications and request advance budget numbers via SAGE. The Office of Sponsored Programs tracks and approves these requests via SPÆRC. The Grant and Contract Accounting office handles post-award functionality via SERA. Investigators disclose their Significant Financial Interests via FIDS.
