Subject: Research Grants & Innovations Symposium - Kenneth Rainin Foundation

Hello,

Because of your research interest, we thought you might be interested in learning more about the Kenneth Rainin Foundation (KRF) 2013 Innovator Awards Program, which are 1 year, $100,000 grants for transformative Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) research projects. The next Letter of Inquiry (LOI) window will be open from January 15 – February 15, 2013. For more details and to submit a LOI starting January 15, 2013, please visit http://krfoundation.org/grants/health/.

Also, you (or someone you know) might be interested in attending the KRF’s Innovations Symposium, entitled “Stress Responses, Inflammation and Disease” to held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. If you would like to register, please visit www.rainin-symposium.com. Early registration is recommended as seating is limited to 150.

Below is a list of our guest speakers along with their preliminary talk titles:

·         Hiroshi Ohno, M.D., Ph.D. - “Function and differentiation of M cells, a subset of intestinal epithelial cells specialized for mucosal antigen uptake”

·         Richard I. Morimoto, Ph.D. -  “The heat shock response - protecting from cell stress and promoting proteome health”
·         Gökhan S. Hotamisligil, M.D., Ph.D. – “ER Stress and New ways to Control Chronic Stress and Inflammation”

The goal of the Kenneth Rainin Foundation is to bring leading authorities from a variety of fields together to initiate and encourage scientific dialogues and to support “out-of-the-box” innovative research projects that are potentially transformative to the Foundation’s efforts to diagnose, treat and/or cure IBD.
