Elizabeth Lee
Elizabeth Lee is a second-year law student at the University of Washington School of Law, intending to specialize in admiralty and maritime law. Elizabeth is a proud Washingtonian and has interacted with port communities across the United States from an early age. She is a “double dawg,” having attended the University of Washington as an undergraduate, majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in International Studies. Elizabeth graduated in 2021 summa cum laude with Departmental Honors and received a President’s Medal for her achievements.
Prior to attending the University of Washington, Elizabeth earned her Associate in Arts and Science Degree from Everett Community College through the Ocean Research College Academy Running Start Program in Everett, Washington. She continued her studies at the University of Washington, where she interned with the National Marine Fisheries Service; participated as a Katz Scholar in the Humanities; and interacted with students and faculty as a Student Ambassador for the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Program. From these academic endeavors, Elizabeth gained extensive experience in environmental and humanities-based research and presented her findings at various venues.
At the University of Washington School of Law, Elizabeth served as the Executive Vice President for the Student Bar Association during the 2021-2022 Academic Year and is currently the organization’s President.
Outside of academics, Elizabeth served as a Community Advisory Committee Member for the Wing Luke Museum’s 2022 exhibit on environmental justice and has volunteered for the Ship Operations Cooperative Program since 2013. Elizabeth is a legal clerk at the Bauer Moynihan & Johnson law firm in Seattle, Washington, for the summer of 2022. She is also a part-time barista at her local Starbucks, where she enjoys connecting with her home community.
Elizabeth is honored to serve as the Student Regent for the 2022 to 2023 Academic Year.
