The College of Built Environments is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of built environments scholars. Our work as stewards of the built environment demands that we continually engage and incorporate diverse and culturally relevant perspectives and approaches. As practitioners, professionals, organizers, activists and community leaders, we care deeply about the places in which we live and the direction in which our communities are going. We know that innovative thinkers and collaborators are vital to the needs of our increasingly urban lives. Thus our goals are simple – to produce graduates who will lead their professions and contribute to the creation of smart, healthy and inclusive communities; and to pursue research that addresses solutions to the issues of equity, justice, urbanism, globalism and sustainability.
