Report

UW year seven self-evaluation (PDF)

By the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)

Regional accreditation is a process of recognizing educational institutions for performance, integrity and quality that entitles them to the confidence of the educational community and the public. In the United States this recognition is extended largely through non-governmental, voluntary membership associations that establish accreditation criteria, evaluate institutions against those criteria and approve institutions that meet the criteria.

The dates of the on-site comprehensive evaluation are Oct. 7-9, 2013.

Comments from the public are invited to be sent to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) in regard to the accreditation of the University of Washington. Comments are accepted only when they are signed with an original signature and are submitted in writing to the President of the Commission. Comments will be forwarded as received to the institution, evaluation committee and the Commission. Comments to the Commission must be received no later than Sept.16, 2013.

Instructions to obtain a copy of Commission Public Notification and Third Party Comments Regarding Year Seven Evaluations can be found via links on the Commission’s website, (www.nwccu.org) or by contacting the Commission office at 425-558-4224.

Comments regarding the University of Washington’s accreditation should be sent directly to:
