Indoors

Come explore the great amenities spaces that Housing & Food Services has to offer! Join us for a tour of the following:

  • The MILL, a makerspace in McCarty Hall

The MILL is a hands-on workspace where the UW community can come together to imagine, discover, innovate and responsibly create. There are 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing machines, milling machines and much more!

  • Area 01, a community center in Maple Hall

Area 01 is a community-focused interdisciplinary learning destination featuring a makerspace, music and video labs, and a gaming area.

  • The 8, a community center in McMahon Hall

The 8 is a multi-use community center where students can create in the makerspace, hit the books in the study lounge or play in the games area. The center features a wood shop, metal machine shop, 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing machines and more!

Husky Grind Coffee Roastery and Education Programs provides opportunities for students to develop intellectually, socially, and personally through a more profound relationship with a popular campus enterprise. Attendees of Parent Family Weekend will get to tour our Coffee Roasting facility/lab and learn about the coffees we produce.

Due to high demand, limited space and our commitment to equitable access, we are offering a raffle to attend this tour.
