The entrance to Othello-UW Commons is located on the west/MLK Jr Way S. side of the building, north of the doors to the Assembly 118 apartments.

Public transit

We highly encourage visitors to use Link light rail. The Othello-UW Commons is located across from Othello Station.

The Via to Transit pick-up/drop-off spot servicing Othello Station is across the cul-de-sac from the Commons.

Driving directions

From the west:

  • From I-5 south, take exit 161 toward Swift Ave.
  • Turn left onto S. Albro Pl. (signs for Swift Ave. S./VA Medical Center).
  • Turn right onto Swift Ave. S.
  • Swift Ave. S. turns into S. Myrtle St., then S. Othello St.
  • To park on 43rd Ave. S.:
    Cross Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. and turn left onto 43rd Ave. S.
  • To park in the cul-de-sac:
    • Turn left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Way S.
    • Turn right onto S. Myrtle St., which turns into 42nd Ave. S.

From the east:

  • Using I-90 west, take exit 3A toward Rainier Ave. S.
  • Stay on Rainier Ave. S. for about 4 miles.
  • Turn right onto S. Othello St.
  • To park on 43rd Ave. S.:
  • Turn right onto 43rd Ave. S.
  • To park in the cul-de-sac:
    • Turn right onto Martin Luther King Jr. Way S.
    • Turn right onto S. Myrtle St., which turns into 42nd Ave. S.

Parking

Limited parking is available in the cul-de-sac (from Martin Luther King Jr. Way S., turn onto S. Myrtle St., which turns into 42nd Ave. S.). Paid street parking is available on 43rd Ave. S, and free parking is available on S. Othello St. on both sides of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. We strongly recommend that visitors use the Link Light Rail or other forms of public transportation.

Accessibility

The Othello-UW Commons is located on the street level with no entrance steps. Our bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and are located in the lobby of the Assembly 118 apartments that we share the ground floor with. There are no stairs to the restroom. Two of our three event spaces, studios A and B, are on the ground floor. Our conference room is located on our mezzanine, up a flight of eighteen stairs, and is accessible by using an elevator in the lobby of Assembly 118. All parking is street parking, and currently there are no designated disabled parking spaces.
